USアンダーグラウンド屈指のインテリ・コンシャスラッパーYUNGMORPHEUSの切れ味鋭くリリシズム溢れ、それでいてゆとりのあるラップ、サイケデリア、ジャズ、ソウルを取り込んだ質感のある音作りに定評のあるDirty Art Clubによるローファイ〜アンビエント、ダウンテンポなトラックが重なり、実体験に根ざしたレジリエンスや物語性を軸として断片的なイメージや比喩が積み重ねられ、思考の独白を紡ぐ。

Widely regarded as one of the most intelligent and conscious voices in the US underground, YUNGMORPHEUS delivers razor-sharp, lyrical yet unhurried raps. These are layered over Dirty Art Club’s richly textured production, which draws from psychedelia, jazz, and soul, blending lo-fi to ambient, downtempo tracks. Grounded in lived experience, the music weaves resilience and narrative at its core, accumulating fragmented images and metaphors to form a stream of introspective, self-reflective thought.

カリフォルニア州オークランド出身のシンガーソングライター、プロデューサー、ディレクターElujay。Hypebeastから「ベイエリアで最も才能あるシンガーソングライターの一人」と称されるアーティストであり、R&Bを軸にヨットロック、ソフィスティポップ、ダンスホール、アルジール、ラヴァーズロック、そして自身のトリニダード的ルーツの響きをブレンドした独自のマッシュアップサウンドを表現する。今作はインディーレーベル drink sum wtrからリリースのソロデビューアルバムで、タイトル『A Constant Charade』にもある通り、、社会的慣習、行動パターン、他者のために演じる自分自身といった、いわば自身がペルソナ(仮面)を纏い他者との関わり合いをすること、Charade(仮面舞踏会)を自己観察することをテーマとしている。サウンド面では今作もカリビアンミュージック、レフトフィールドエレクトロニックミュージックの影響を色濃く反映し、コラボレーターには2度目のデュエット参加となるserpentwithfeet、ギターワークにはジャズギタリストNicholas Creusなど、彼にとって信頼のおけるパートナーで固め、名演を引き出す下支えとなっている。

Elujay is a singer-songwriter, producer, and director from Oakland, California. Praised by Hypebeast as “one of the Bay Area’s most talented singer-songwriters,” he is known for crafting a distinctive mash-up sound rooted in R&B while blending elements of yacht rock, sophisti-pop, dancehall, algoré, lovers rock, and the sonic echoes of his Trinidadian heritage.

This release marks his solo debut album on the independent label drink sum wtr. As suggested by its title, "A Constant Charade", the album centers on themes of social conventions, habitual behaviors, and the versions of ourselves we perform for others—exploring the act of engaging with the world while wearing personas, and observing oneself within this ongoing “charade.” Sonically, the record continues to reflect strong influences from Caribbean music and leftfield electronic sounds. Trusted collaborators help shape the album, including serpentwithfeet, who appears in a duet for the second time, and jazz guitarist Nicholas Creus, whose guitar work supports and elevates the performances, drawing out some of Elujay’s most compelling moments to date.

オーストラリア・メルボルン南東部出身のラッパー兼プロデューサーBaro Suraによる、EPやシングルを経た集大成的初フルアルバム。『TODAY & ALWAYS』というタイトルは、瞬間的な感情(TODAY)と、時間を超えて残る想い(ALWAYS)の並置を示唆し、その2項が溶け合い、日々変化するなかで、繰り返し立ち返る感情との循環を表現している。サウンド面ではミニマルでローファイ寄りのビート、柔らかなシンセやギターを中心に、敢えて解像度を落とした音像で感情の曖昧さを淡いトーンで描き出す。感情を定義せず、移ろいゆくさまを日常と並行するかのようにその円環に触れている。

An Australian rapper and producer from Melbourne’s southeast, Baro Sura presents his first full-length album—a culmination of the EPs and singles he has released to date.

Titled "TODAY & ALWAYS", the album juxtaposes fleeting, momentary emotions (“TODAY”) with feelings that endure beyond time (“ALWAYS”). As these two ideas dissolve into one another, the record traces a cycle of emotions that continually resurface amid the constant changes of everyday life. Sonically, the album centers on minimal, lo-fi-leaning beats, gentle synths, and guitar lines, using a deliberately reduced sense of resolution to render emotional ambiguity in soft, muted tones. Rather than defining emotions outright, the music lingers on their transience, touching this emotional loop as if it runs parallel to daily life itself.
