南アフリカ出身のフィメールラッパーYugen Blakrokによる、2019年『Anima Mysterium』以来6年ぶりの新作アルバム。今作は本格的なDIYスタジオ環境、マルセイユに構えた廃屋スタジオで録音されたそうで、Yugen自身、この制作を身体を張った挑戦としている。アブストラクト・ヒップホップ、トリップ・ホップ、グランジなどのスピリットを踏襲し、前作のスタイルを打ち破りながらストーリーテラーとしてのアーティストの進化を反映。「Free. Involved. Anti.」と自身でこのアルバムを称し、彼女のダークでインテリジェンス、リリカルでイデオロギーに満ちた静かなる圧力を放っている。

This album marks South African female rapper Yugen Blakrok’s first new release in six years, following her 2019 work "Anima Mysterium". The project was recorded in a fully realized DIY studio housed within an abandoned building in Marseille, a process Yugen herself has described as a physically demanding, all-in challenge.

Rooted in the spirits of abstract hip-hop, trip-hop, and grunge, the album both inherits and decisively breaks from the aesthetic of its predecessor, reflecting a clear evolution in Yugen’s voice as a storyteller and artist. She has succinctly defined the record as “Free. Involved. Anti.”—a self-authored manifesto that permeates the work.

What emerges is a record that exerts a quiet yet unyielding pressure: dark and intelligent, deeply lyrical, and rich with ideology. It speaks not through excess, but through restraint—revealing an artist who has sharpened her vision and now delivers it with calm, unwavering force.
