アメリカ・ミネアポリスを中心とした宅録・Lo-Fiの隠れたシーンの中で活躍したグループ、Sukpatchにより1992年に小規模でリリースされたカセット音源が初のLP化。

アメリカ各地のメンバーたちとカセットテープを郵送しあいながらそれぞれ音を重ねていくという、なんとも牧歌的でくすぐられる制作スタイルで作られ、90年代インディシーンのLo-Fi感覚とポップメロディの絶妙なブレンド、ハンドメイド感のあるカセット音源由来のざらついた質感による温かみ、アナログループや遊び心あるサンプリング、ボーカルをハーフスピードで録音してから再生速度を上げて声色を高くするなど、DIYならではのユニークで遊び心溢れる魅力が詰まっている。

Emerging from the home-recording and lo-fi scene centered around Minneapolis, Sukpatch saw their 1992 cassette release finally receive its first LP edition. The album was crafted in a charmingly pastoral, collaborative manner: members across the U.S. mailed cassette tapes back and forth, layering sounds remotely. The result is a perfect blend of 90s indie lo-fi sensibilities and pop melodies, enriched by the warm, textured feel of handmade cassette recordings. Analog loops, playful sampling, and DIY quirks—like recording vocals at half speed and then speeding them up to create higher-pitched tones—imbue the album with a uniquely inventive and whimsical charm.

Formed in 1990, The Prodigy released their second album as a fearless exploration of electronic music and breakbeats. The record kicks off with “Break & Enter,” evoking the feeling of storming through the doors of an abandoned rave, and continues with a diverse array of standout tracks like “Voodoo People” and “Poison,” each rich in inventive sampling. Heather Hannouraと Seth Sherにより2014年からノイズ、サウンドコラージュ、パフォーマンスアートの要素を融合させ活動を始めたシカゴ出身のエレクトロニック・デュオHIDE。彼らの音楽性はパンクとメタルのバックグラウンドスピリットを持ち、テクスチャー豊かでミニマルでありながら力強く、生々しい脆弱性を解き放つ。今作でもHeatherによる個人的かつ普遍的な現代の残虐行為への怒りを反映させた歌詞、ノイズ、パンク、インダストリアル、ブルータリスト・テクノとの邂逅的サウンドが混じり合い、社会的な力、肉体、宗教など、浄化とカタルシスを求める終わりのないリチュアルを執り行う。

Formed in 2014 by Heather Hannoura and Seth Sher, Chicago-based electronic duo HIDE blend elements of noise, sound collage, and performance art. Rooted in the spirit of punk and metal, their music is texturally rich, minimal yet forceful, and capable of unleashing a raw sense of vulnerability.
On this release, Hannoura’s lyrics once again reflect a deeply personal yet universal anger toward the brutalities of the modern world. Noise, punk, industrial, and brutalist techno collide to create an encounter-like sonic landscape. Through this convergence, the duo conducts an endless ritual seeking purification and catharsis—grappling with themes of social power, the body, and religion.

アメリカのフォーク・ミュージシャン、"Woody" Guthrieの娘でシンガーソングライターArlo Guthrieの妹、そして著名なイディッシュ語詩人Aliza Greenblattの孫であるNora Guthrieにより1967年に当時17歳でリリースした唯一のシングル。

A面には淡いサイケデリアと繊細なポップ感、そしてアシッドフォーク的な味わいが同居する独自の世界観、Beach Boysの『Pet Sounds』を彷彿とさせる音像、おそらくアメリカの詩人Emily Dickinsonに宛てたであろうオマージュを感じさせる「Emily’s Illness」、B面には彼女の当時のボーイフレンドEric Eisnerによって書かれ、ギターのアルペジオやストリングス、優しく揺れるリズムがアンニュイなムードが漂う「Home Before Dark」を収録。

A unique single released in 1967 by 17-year-old Nora Guthrie, daughter of American folk musician “Woody” Guthrie, sister of singer-songwriter Arlo Guthrie, and granddaughter of renowned Yiddish poet Aliza Greenblatt. This remains her only release.

The A-side, “Emily’s Illness,” presents a singular world where delicate psychedelia, subtle pop sensibilities, and hints of acid folk coexist. Its sonic palette evokes the Pet Sounds era of the Beach Boys and carries what seems to be an homage to the American poet Emily Dickinson.

The B-side, “Home Before Dark,” was written by her boyfriend at the time, Eric Eisner. With gentle guitar arpeggios, string arrangements, and a softly swaying rhythm, the track exudes an ennui-tinged mood, providing a tender counterpoint to the A-side’s dreamy psychedelia.

USインディーシーンを賑わす、2019年に結成されたシカゴ出身3ピースロックバンドHorsegirlによる、『Phonetics On and On』からのシングル「Julie」のデモ音源を収録した数量限定(世界150枚)7インチ。

Deerhunterなどを手掛けるCate Le Bonをプロデューサーに迎えて制作された『Phonetics On and On』は数多くの媒体で「2025年上半期ベスト・アルバム」に選出され、2025年を代表するアルバムとしての地位を確立しており、アルバム収録曲である今作の「Julie」は米メディア The Ringerから“spare and stunning(そぎ落とされた美しさと驚き)”と評される、アルバムを代表する名曲。「いろんなヴァージョンを重ねて出来上がった曲」であるからして、この曲が完成するまでの道程、成長の過程をこのデモ2曲で是非味わってほしい。

A three-piece rock band from Chicago, Horsegirl, who have been making waves in the US indie scene since their formation in 2019, are releasing a limited-edition 7-inch (worldwide run of 150 copies) featuring the demo version of “Julie” from their album Phonetics On and On.

Produced by Cate Le Bon, known for her work with Deerhunter, Phonetics On and On was selected by numerous outlets as one of the “Best Albums of the First Half of 2025” and has firmly established itself as a defining album of the year. The track “Julie,” featured on the album, has been hailed by The Ringer as “spare and stunning,” making it one of the standout songs of the record.

Given that the song was developed through layering various versions, these two demo tracks offer a rare glimpse into the evolution and creative process behind one of the album’s signature pieces.

プエルトリコ・サンフアンのガレージ、パンクバンド、Davila 666のセルフ・タイトル作がAmerican Leather Recordsよりリリース。Lo-Fi、荒々しい質感のロックンロール、自身のバンドを「Menudo on drugs(ボーイズグループのMenudoのぶっ壊れVer.みたいな)」と評しており、今作でもキャッチーなメロディと荒々しいサウンドのミックスが絶妙。ざらついたギターのひずみ、リバーブや残響の荒さ、被せ感の強いバックボーカルなどがマリアージュ、エネルギッシュでノイジー、キャッチーなバンドサウンドを形成。

A self-titled release from the garage punk band Davila 666 from San Juan, Puerto Rico, issued on American Leather Records. Blending lo-fi, raw-textured rock ’n’ roll, the band has famously described themselves as “Menudo on drugs”—a blown-out, twisted version of the boy band Menudo. On this record as well, they strike a perfect balance between catchy melodies and abrasive, rough-edged sound.

The gritty guitar distortion, the coarse reverb and echo, and the heavily layered backing vocals all merge together, forming an energetic, noisy, yet irresistibly catchy band sound.
