1993年、Polygon Window名義作品として発表され、エレクトロニックミュージックの歴史を変えた伝説のアルバム。当時WARP Recordsからは初のリリースで、「テクノ・モーツァルト」たる所以にもなった大名盤が日本語帯付き盤LPで待望のリイシュー。

Polygon Window名義でのリリースは今作のみであり、ジャケットは彼の子供時代に姉妹たちと過ごしたコーンウォールのチャペルポースのビーチ写真で、タイトルの「Surfing on Sine Waves」は「コーンウォールで育った知り合いの多くはポーザーサーファーで、彼らとは付き合いたくなかった」という彼の発言を基に、WARPのRob Mitchellによってつけられたという。

そんな今作は、オリジナルヴァージョンのアルバム、そして同年リリースされたEP『Quoth』を一つにまとめたエクスパンデッドエディション。

Originally released in 1993 under the alias Polygon Window, this legendary album is widely regarded as a work that changed the course of electronic music history. It marked the very first release on Warp Records, and stands as a defining masterpiece that helped earn its creator the moniker “Techno Mozart.” Now, the long-awaited reissue arrives on vinyl with a Japanese obi strip.

This is the only album ever released under the Polygon Window name. The cover features a photograph of the beach at Chapel Porth in Cornwall, where he spent his childhood with his sisters. The title Surfing on Sine Waves was reportedly coined by Warp’s Rob Mitchell, inspired by the artist’s remark that “many of the people I knew growing up in Cornwall were poser surfers, and I didn’t want anything to do with them.”

This expanded edition brings together the original album along with the Quoth EP, which was also released in 1993.

NZO, an enigmatic leftfield dance music producer from Sheffield, releases a new album on DDS, limited to 300 copies worldwide.
Rooted in UK garage, the record draws selectively from jungle, footwork, and computer funk, reconstructing these influences through NZO’s own distinctive rhythmic sensibility. Representing a new generation of UK dance music, the album takes a leftfield approach while maintaining a groove solid enough to lock in the dance floor—an experimental work made for the club.

The first solo release by the enigmatic producer Rali Pibs, about whom little is known aside from being based in Bristol, UK.
While rooted in leftfield dance music, the tracks reveal moments where the avant-garde encounters the primitive. Drawing on the weight and physicality of bass music, the sound fuses with techno-driven synthetic textures, creating a dense, multi-layered sonic depth. Tribal percussion further adds a ritualistic atmosphere throughout the release.

Aphex Twin’s 1996 release, bearing his own real name and dedicated to his late brother of the same name, is finally reissued on LP with a Japanese obi strip. Composed on his personal Macintosh computer, the album is defined by lightning-fast breakbeats and intricate drum programming heavily influenced by jungle and drum & bass. Featuring some of the most beloved tracks of his career—including the iconic “Girl/Boy Song”—this landmark record is further immortalized by its mischievous, grinning cover image, an indelible visual that remains etched in the memory of listeners to this day.

BjorkからAphex Twinまで幅広くコラボを重ねる異才Leilaの2000年にリリースされた名作2ndアルバムが25周年記念Expanded Ver.でリリース。当時のMIDIやオーディオなどすべてのデータは自身で保管されていたようで、単にアルバムを作り直すのではなく、隠れていたディテールを引き出すことを目的としてリエディットを選び、より本来の伝えたい形に洗練されているという。オリジナルの14曲を中心に、当初アナログ盤オンリーだった「Relax The Pleasuredome」を含め、未発表曲を多数追加収録。新たな発見を啓発する仕様となっている。

The visionary Leila—an artist whose collaborations span from Björk to Aphex Twin—returns with her acclaimed second album from 2000, now reissued as a 25th Anniversary Expanded Version. Remarkably, all of the original MIDI and audio data from the time had been meticulously preserved by Leila herself. Rather than simply recreating the album, she chose to re-edit the material with the aim of uncovering previously hidden details, refining the work into a form that more faithfully conveys her original intentions. Centered around the original 14 tracks, this expanded edition includes numerous previously unreleased recordings, as well as “Relax The Pleasuredome,” which was initially available only on vinyl. The release is designed to inspire fresh discoveries throughout.

奇才Bogdan RaczynskiによるDisciplesからリリースアルバム。IDMの寵児にしてジャングル、ハードコア、出生地のポーランドの伝統音楽にインスピレーションを受けて音楽制作をする彼の今作は、メロディアスで温かみを感じるどこか心の郷愁を感じるサウンドスケープ。ピコピコ音、ビートレスなトラック、ストレンジなシンセサウンドが繋ぎ合わされ、後期資本主義の残虐性、過剰な消費者主義、インターネット社会の破滅、そしてアルゴリズムによる大災害をテーマにしているという。

An album released on Disciples by the eccentric Bogdan Raczynski. Long regarded as a darling of IDM, Raczynski draws inspiration from jungle, hardcore, and the traditional music of his birthplace, Poland. On this latest work, he crafts a melodic and warm soundscape imbued with a deep sense of nostalgia and emotional resonance. Chiptune-like bleeps, beatless tracks, and strange synthesizer textures are intricately woven together, forming a cohesive whole. The album is said to explore themes such as the brutality of late-stage capitalism, excessive consumerism, the collapse of internet society, and catastrophic disasters driven by algorithms.
